AA's have been licensed in Florida for 2 years now, yet the only AA's I know of in Florida work for Nova. I'm not sure why this is, but I suspect it has to do with a number of factors. 1) Many popular Florida cities have a lower standard of living than the AA established areas. 2) It's probably daunting to be the first AA in an area unfamiliar to the AA profession. Who wants to work in a sea of CRNA's who view AA's as cockroaches trying to steal their crumbs. My wife was told by one the MDA’s training her that the CRNA’s have their group “by the balls.” 3) CRNA salaries in Florida, and therefore an AA’s potential salary, don’t seem to be on par with other similar states.
