Thank you for taking time to read my post. I am looking for some facts. I have some questions regarding general anesthesia. This had been my 3rd time being under general anesthesia and typically when vomiting after awakening my stomach is usually empty, but my last surgery 2 months ago I had vomited a least a 1/2 gallon of fluid. My operation was for two hours and they started my drip IV @ 10:35 and surgery was delayed and anesthesia started @ 12:44 through 14:44. I believe I may have been administered too much fluid. Im not so much concerned of the blood in the vomit but the amount of vomit. After awakening I started to sweat and luckily I was able to dump my clothing out of the belonging bag and vomit. One nurse was surprised and the other nurse noted "vomited mod amount". How much fluid should be present after fasting and the anesthesia? One of the nursed commented that the drip was fast, I had to go to the restroom twice prior to surgery. Please advise if this is normal. Thanks for your time. Regards SS
