I was accepted to Emory with a 3.19 cumulative and a higher prereq GPA, although I never calculated it. I scored 52 percentile math and 70 percentile verbal on the GRE. The stated minimum for the math was 55th percentile. I, too, thought I had zero chance of getting accepted. I had to disclose some personal info related to my past that I thought would def get me rejected. However, I worked as an anes tech for a few years and built good relationships w anesthesiologists, who wrote me strong letters. My work experience and letters are likely what got me the acceptance.
I obsessively read posts on this website for about a year and let a lot of opinions from strangers discourage me about my chances. I applied anyway. Every person and every circumstance is different. My point is, dont let anyone tell you that you cant do something. Make improvements, stay positive and work your butt off. You'll never get accepted if you don't apply. Don't let people on this board dictate whether or not you should apply. If you don't get in, ask what changes you need to make and make them.
I applied in spite of what I thought about my own chances and I got in to a very good AA school. It's funny bc I got rejected from Nova, w/o an interview. Good luck to you!
