With that being said, if you are willing the put forth the hard work you will get where you want to be. Believe it or not, standardized test tell very little about a person's knowledge base so it hs nothing to do with "not being smart enough to be in AA school". I personally know someone who scored in the 900s and is graduating this Aug from AA school.
If I were you I would pactice as many quantitative problems as possible and also focus on test taking strategies. One thing I had to remember while taking the test is that it's not about figuring out the exact numerical answer (which would take up a considerable amount of time) but instead it's about narrowing down your choices so that you are more likely to choose the right answer.
