I agree. The object of this forum isn't to argue with each other. I got into multiple schools and I ended up choosing nova but I'm sure every program adequately prepares their students for the OR. It doesn't really matter when you start in the OR. Nova starts later but the students have more autonomy earlier on and are at the hospital 8-10 hrs two days a week. I'm comfortable running a basic full case by myself already. Students at the other schools are at the same level as well within a relatively short period. Choosing a school should be based on how you like the faculty and the type of curriculum used. First year hours are great but your entire second year is composed of the OR only so learn as much as you can early on so you'll feel comfortable. My recommendation is to apply to as many schools as you can and go on each interview to get a feel for the environment. Then base your decision off your overall impression. Good luck!
