Re: Housing in Ft. Lauderdale for NSU
Housing near the Nova campus in Davie is fairly inexpensive. Most of the class lives near school for proximity to campus. Restaurants/food/going out is cheaper in Davie than closer to downtown. A nice 2 bedroom apartment can run around $1000-1500. Student housing is more expensive (single is around $1000/month) but utilities are included and grad housing has the most amazing pool/patio area. Living closer to town involves a 30 minute commute and more expensive living (food, gas, apartments, etc) but is closer to upscale nightlife and the beach. Apartments closer to town are around $1000/month without utilities. Living closer to school adds convenience to getting to class, the gym, and any going out after class that other classmates do. If you're a big nightlife or beach person, live closer to town. Grad housing adds the convenience of all bills being paid and you are still "on campus". However, being on campus means you still have to follow some rules (checking people in, parking, etc) but they tend to be pretty chill since it is grad housing. Hope this helps!
