Wow -- it's kind of sad that earning "more than $100k" is considered to be a high income for an AA nowadays. Whatever happened to $120k - 140k being the norm as far as starting salaries go? People will probably attack me for this post, but it was only a few short years ago that anesthetists (including both AA's and CRNA's) held the attitude that an offer of even $120k was considered being undercut, and that you'd better make damn sure that the offer included the opportunity to take call and work OT for a substantial hourly rate, or else you might as well just walk away because you could find a better offer within the vicinity of the same city. It's amazing how job market conditions and, subsequently, attitudes can change over such a short period of time.
