- What are the clinical training schedules like? Do you have to travel far in the first year?
First 14 months is didactic, with only a day or two per week in the hospital. I think its required that the hospital be an hour or less away during this time. The Last 13 months is pretty much all clinicals 5 days a week-- each month you are in a new hospital and rotations can be all over the country. They have 75-100 clinical sites all over.
-Is there a dress code?
At ft. Lauderdale each health science program has their own color scrubs that they are required wear to class and on campus, so you can tell which students are from which program. Kinda cool I guess. I think AA's are a light blueish color, but don't quote me on that. In Tampa you can wear scrubs and white coat, or business casual.
- What time do classes begin and end during the day?
I'm not positive on this one. It's going to vary per semester. But its not like you have class all day, somedays its only a couple hours, others it may be like 6 hours. I'm not exact on this one though.
- Also, if anyone is interested in selling their first year books, please let me know
I think almost every book is available for FREE in ebook format. Yes free.
- Is it possible to do an out-of-state rotation during the first year?
Going with the first question, i'm pretty sure all first year rotations are within an hour drive maximum, since you're also taking like 18-19 credits of classes and only 2 credits of clinicals.
- What would you say is the average amount of time spent studying per night for most students?
A lot
