Re: AA School --> Med School?
I know someone who went to AA school then after graduation went on to Medical school. They used the program at Emory to strengthen their application for medical school and now are a Anesthesiologist. Did they come out with a lot of debt? Yes. Does this person like what he does now? Absolutely, but he also tells me, that as AAs, we have more options to move about and around than he does as an MD. Whereas our pay is based on experience and we can take that with us from state to state (at least the ones we are licensed to work in) he on the other hand if he decides to move must join another anesthesiology group at base pay and work up the chain to get back to the same pay he is making now even though he has been practicing for some time. Just something to think about. But I say go for it. I was actually in the same position as you but I quickly realized how fast that debt adds up and how much I love my future career as an AA. Who knows you might love it just as much! Don't worry about what other people say, they are just jealous that you got into the program. Hope this helps!
