Re: I went to AA school for the money, and school is going great!
I was on the fence between PA and AA and I applied to both programs this past year and received interview offers and acceptance into many of the programs. I'm from Atlanta but I've decided to go to Case starting in June and at this point I have just been turning down interview offers because I don't think anything will change my mind. I'm not going to sugarcoat it but the salary does have some factor in why I chose AA over PA. The only thing that may be a turn off is that as an AA you are limited to working in certain states but I only see this as a slight negative as the profession seems to be expanding into other states. I would def suggest shadowing because I felt that I might get bored with anesthesia but after shadowing I felt otherwise. Also it seems like you want to stay in GA but don't limit yourself to applying to only Emory and South. I suggest taking the MCAT as well.
