Stop and survey the field. Answer your own question, I am sure you know the answer. Maybe something stands out like a sore thumb on your application. Maybe you said something arrogant on your personal statement. Maybe one of your LOR writers doesn't like you. Maybe the other people that were interviewed all have extemely compelling life stories, letters, experiences, etc.... Keep in mind the average age of matriculants is 29!
For those who have excellent GPAs but horrible GRE scores... I can tell you how GRE's are viewed by some program admissions departments. They don't measure your college work, they measure high school. WHAT??? That is ridiculous! The GRE I took was like the SAT's, there wasn't a drop of info I learned in college. I started "refreshing" the day before the test.
Why is the GRE so important you ask. Because it is a great measure of retention of information. Personally, I want someone who got B's in the AA program and remembers what to do ten years later then someone who aces classes through hard work but forgets it the next semester. The B student makes an excellent practitioner over the A student mentioned.
