There are a number of reasons as to why I turned down Emory. I would say first and fore most I felt like I was truly wanted at Case. They organized and paid for a diner at a local restaurant with a 2nd year the night before the interview. Those of us that were interviewing only 6 at a time including myself) all showed up and got to ask the 2nd year a lot of questions about the program. We prob spent at least 2 plus hours at diner talking about the program as well as getting to know one another. I flew into Cleveland a few days early and I was able to go in and shadow without a hassle. I called up the office told them I was in the area a few days early and asked if I could come in and observe and they were happy to set me up with a 2nd year. The interview day was from 830 to about 5 with one on one interviews with at least 6 different people as well as about a hr lunch with the 1st years. They also took us on a tour of the labs and we got to sit in briefly on one class.
Secondly being from Atlanta I kind of wanted to get out of the Atlanta area and thirdly I have a lot of family in the Cleveland area that I don't get to see to often so that kind of played a factor into it as well.
