thought i would post on a follow up on last night's post. heard from sharon this morning, she said that in order to for ANY application to be considered for an interview, both of their GRE scores (vebal and quant) must each be at the 55% mark, minimum. so I emailed her back and asked if there was any way that exceptional extracurriculars or any other impressive factors could possibly compensate for a lower quant GRE score than the 55% minimum. she asked me how much lower I was talking about, so I told her around 44%. she emailed me back one more time and said that regardless of how impressive the rest of my app looks, i would absolutely HAVE to have a higher quant GRE score. she sounded almost apologetic and had this tone of, "sorry, but that's just the way it is." so at this point, where do i go? if she is in fact telling the truth, then there is no way that my application will even be reviewed; it will simply be tossed in the trash for not making the cut off. do you guys really think there could be something more to it? i mean, she flat-out said that my app wouldn't make it past the basic weed-out stage, but if you guys think there is still somehow a chance..... |
