I can't speak for myself specifically (I'm only an applicant) but I talked to a few AA's when I shadowed about why they chose the schools they did. One went to Case and he chose it because he was already accepted to medical school but decided to go to AA school instead and already had the MCAT done. He told me he felt like students that came through his hospital that went to Case Western had superior clinical skills...but then again he could have just been biased. I talked to a student and a graduate from South University and they said they chose it because the staff was really friendly during their interview and they really enjoyed visiting the school. The graduate from South said he got a stuck-up, you should feel privileged to even interview here vibe from Emory and was accepted there but decided to go to South. I talked to an Emory graduate, but it was the only school she applied to. She said she really liked it, but that it was difficult to get rotations where you wanted. She graduated some years ago so I don't know if this is still true. I haven't talked to a Nova student or grad so I don't know about them. It seems to me that most of the programs are really solid and you can become an excellent anesthetist no matter where you end up.
