I am kind of nervous about the AA position and job security... I know of several students about to graduate with no job offers, and it makes me somewhat hesitant. What kind of groups do the hiring, and are they always much less pay than the CRNA's? I'm just curious, because it seems a little insulting to get paid less for essentially the same exact job. Yes, maybe AA's can't practice independently, but are the hospital AA's and CRNA's at least getting paid the same? Also, are the job markets in FL really flooded with both types of anesthetists? I would be interested in going either route to get to the same means, but I would like to be reassured that I will be able to pay back the steep loans I'm sure to incur while attending the AA program.
