P.S. I can access regular (non-app) GMail for a different way to view it.

I have come over time come to hate the way Google takes over everything. When I upgraded my Nexus 7 to Lollipop, to got to all the pictures stored on my tablet in what was once called Gallery, I was forced to activate and sign in to Google+ which I had deactivated.

On the HP10, that is on KitKat 4.4.2, has the Gallery and can access my pics etc there without having Google+ activated.

I have deactivated as many Google pre-installed apps that I can. But as I have said, the Lollipop upgrade ruined my Nexus 7, even negatively effecting WiFi strength.
