Yeah, I realize only Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on that day. At first I wrote "Happy Thanksgiving, Americans!" but that seemed so discriminatory, for some reason. At one time it was my favorite holiday, just because of the food and family.

I know what you mean about it being hard this year to feel things deep inside. This pandemic is unlike anything the world has seen. Yes, we've had other terrible health crises before, but I don't think it's ever affected as widespread a population like this. It's changed so many people's behaviors and affected entire industries.

I hope we learn from this going forward -- not only about how we need to react quickly and prepare in advance, but how we need to change the things that spawn such events, such as the way we treat animals.
