Hi Homekids~~
I got a call from Homekid, Cottage 27’s Joe Kwasny today, and he has asked me to pass along some info that I think lots of you will be interested in!!! So here goes:
Starting today, Thursday thru Sunday (8/22-8/25) the Traveling VietNam Memorial Wall will be displayed in Romeoville, Illinois!!!
Now I’m hearing you all say…. “Ohhh that’s why she started this post soooo weirdly!!!” Hahahaha!!!!
Yep!!! That’s it! Romeoville will be the place to be this weekend to see and experience The Wall, and find at least two of our Homekid’s’ names!!!
They are John Superczynski, and Leonard James Trumblay! There will be books and other info to look up their names to see what panel they are listed on, then you go find the panel and then their names, Where you can take a picture or make a rubbing of the lettering! It is a very moving experience to say the least!
There is a website to find more information about each of the names listed! And where the Wall is going next! That webpage is:
vvmf.org.the wall. Go look up John and Leonard, their stories are very interesting! It’s on a page called Wall of Faces!
Joe Kwasny has told me that if you’ll let us know, he will go and take a picture of any other name that you might like to find, like a relative or friend!! So let us know by posting here today!!
Go check out the Wall this weekend ….the weather should be nice!!! I googled Romeoville and The Wall and it came right up with directions to get there too!!! Maybe see you there??? Enjoy!!
And Thanks Joe for the Info!!!
It will be open from 2pm-Dusk each day!!! Tonight (Thursday) will be the Opening Ceremony at 6pm!
