Hi! Jamie! My Mother and her 4 siblings were also at Angel Guardian during the 30’s and 40’s! There were many different causes or reasons that the children could have ‘raised” money for such things as a stained glass window!!! One way was that they saw their parents and other relatives every two weeks, on what they called “Visiting Sunday”!!! And their Cottage nun would send them home with an envelope and a pencil for them to pitch their cause and come back to cottage that evening with the cash for the windows or for subscriptions to the monthly magazine that was put out by the AGO Print shop as a fundraiser!!!! They would remind the children as they left for the day that they were supposed to return at night with the money!!!
