Hi Homekids~~~
What a Lunch!!! I got there at my usual 12:30, and everybody was about done eating!! So I got my ice tea and hotdog while Tom Fitz, tried to get everyone’s attention to announce that he had a presentation to present!!! I had no idea!!! Well thinking about it now….I can picture Fr. Neimeyer, and Sr. Joette, and a few other Nuns and Priests all getting a front row seat to see Tom giving his presentation to ME!!!! Of a framed certificate of the last and final State of Illinois License for Child Care from 6/1/74 to 6/1/76!!! For providing care as a Child Caring Institution for a maximum of fifty(50) children. Since AGO closed on July 15, 1974, they had to keep adjusting the amount of children the license would be for! And at the time of June 1st….they were down to less than 50 kids!!!
I was very surprised by the presentation, and I promise to “treasure” it forever with lots of other “memorabilia” from our “former home”!!!

I can equate the significence of this license with the many copies of the 35+ years of licenses that I have of my day care center!!! We worked very hard for that license every two years it was being evaluated for the State of Illinois!!! And every year for the City of Chicago!!! And “YES” I have every one of those licenses!!!! After working so hard to get it….its not something that goes out of sight!!! So I can appreciate all the hard work that went into this AGO License, and every license that was before it for over 109 years!!!
Thank you Tom, and Coach Collins for treasuring it for all these years!!! I promise to take care, and show it to every “Homekid”!!! You can be sure it will be at our next gathering at Paterno’s on October 19th!!! So you can get a good look at it!!! (Sure wish we could find those Lobby Statues!!!)
