Because of the poor radio system that's when a lot of us went to the CB radios. I had a portable rig with magnetic antenna for use in a pool or vacation car. Plus, the CB was entertaining especially when around the truck stops. C-2 had our own radio codes for the PD radio as well as the CB. A lot of the local CBers would keep us informed on "road conditions" (locations of shift supervisors in Odenton and the strip)
