Jim Baublitz, thank you for identifying some of the transportation logistics that take place to ensure some Retiree's can make these events. A simple "if I pick you up and bring you back home will you attend?" gives some of us who can no longer drive, a chance to see old friends.
Now I have a "big ask" for everyone who reads the Board (and this message of course). It simply requires reenergizing your investigative skills, dialing (wait...no one actually "dials" anymore) the phone or sending an email or text message.
Think of one person that you may have worked with, had a beer or two with, or wondered whatever happened to ........
That's right, try to find and contact just one Retiree. Say Hello, ask them where they are and what they have been up to and tell them about our group. If they are aware of the Board....great! If not, ask if you can send them the link. If they are local to Maryland, tell them about the monthly luncheons.
I promise there will be no score keeping. If by chance during your investigative blitzkrieg, you find that person is deceased, that's OK, drop a quick email to me at: "boardhost.250radio1042@gmail.com"
Keeping track of everyone is a huge task, but each of you finding just one Retiree, would yield over one-hundred new contacts or pieces of information.
In the interim, I would suggest you keep the information off the Board directly, UNLESS, the person says it's OK to let the group know. Whatever is sent to me will remain offline, but can/will be shared upon direct request on an individual basis.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to find "The One". To all the Retiree's who have attended the Monthly luncheon's, keep coming. I will do my best to make all that I can.
