Additionally, if you are lucky enough to live a long time after retirement (26 years for me), you will find that inflation takes a big bite out of your pension. I suggest that you continue to save or take another job where you earn a second pension.

I don't know your age or length of service. I told my Son to either leave at 20 to get a second pension, or stay as long as possible, and take full advantage of the DROP, and the investment options that the county offers.

I also agree with John Santana. Get a job or hobby that you are passionate about and keep busy.
