On November 4th, Dave Griffith 436, my former neighbor on Ryan Road, statarted this thread. It has evolved into a behemoth. We need a do-over. In reviewing the stories, I found one I missed. Joe had reminded me of the snowplow incident where Spike Miller had commandeered a snow plow. It had to be that blizzard of 1979. I think. I do not remember it, but Joe posted a facsimile of Spke and the truck. Took me many hours to dig out my white Pontiac, with the help of my neighbors in the Gatewater Landing apartment complex. Not to return for many days.
With that in mind, there were a heck of a lot of female cops that need mentioning. My most fond remembrance was Lorraine Owsley. The story of her following an officer to lock up who was transporting an unruly female. She radioed him to pull over. He did, she walked up opened the rear door and “ Biitch-slapped her ito a pulp”. Took care of that! Then. And the time I was writing an article on her about me and Rick Roback, as though she was still alive. Well duh, an email from her ( Henry) appears with an obituary where she passed 12 years prior! Well holy crap. I had forgotten. There are a lot more female cops to remember. Mary Kolhepp stands out. Petite, but deadly. Held her own in our street fights. So to Splke and many other fine cops. See what you can dig up.
