I had to draft an airtight, official-looking document from a fictitious Law firm and get these two knuckleheads to sign it before they each got the $10,000.00 payoff.
To work I went. Penned a rough draft and got Bart’s approval.
The law firm of S. Cam, “SCAM” and “R .I. POFF” was in business
SCAM & RIPOFF, in case you missed it. Was the phony letterhead I typed up.
It looked official. ….. quite wordy….I still have the signed copy in my files somewhere.
Bart, laughing his ass off approved it. Off to the printer it went.
The plan was to have me and my lawyer partner meet at the house they lived in in Glen Burnie. Both had to be there to get the cash.
Bart and I arrived at the house. He carried the briefcase holding the 20 grand. ( it only held his gun.). Trying not to laugh we enter the house. Shake hands, sit them side by side while I read the contract to them. Their eyes got as wide as saucers and smiles as I mentioned the stack of bills in the briefcase. (I could tell Bart was about to lose it. And so was I. So I rushed it.
The arrest team waiting outside, lead by Sergeant Feeney, was signaled by me to enter. In they came. Brandishing guns. Bart pulled his out of the case….saying you’re both under arrest! At ease guys…put your guns away. “Cuff ‘em”! Away the smiles went. Charged with theft by deseption. Walked out laughing. TEAMWORK! Steve check your files. Maryland Gazette. I started getting calls from a lot of their friends saying they were glad they were caught. They knew what they were doing.
