Well, with Dave’s current knee problems, he was probably “ RUNNING RIGHT TO READS”, tripped over the curb, landed on his knee…..and the rest is history. And that isn’t funny.
Now my funny story involved a high speed chase, a watermelon behind the driver’s seat of my cruiser and a hump in the road…..
I got the watermelon at Mikikie’s produce stand, where Furnace Branch Rod meets Crain. They run about 6 bucks now. Back then, In the 70’s about 50 cents. Mike liked cops, so I probably got it free. Off the chase goes. I heard that melon rolling with every turn. CRAP! If that thing breaks, what a mess it’s going to make. Then came an intersection or a dip in the road. Up in the air it went….landing with a thud. S O B. That a-hole will be paying dearly when I catch him. Did I catch him? I don’t remember. The watermelon was fine. There’s a lot more.
