Re: Professional Appearance
Now that that door has been opened.... I've noticed that our recruiting section often frequents job fairs ..near and far. The PD Facebook page often shows the recruiters, more often the guys are (but women too) in kakis, polo shirts and sport'n some of the best looking "Bluto" beards you can imagine. Other agencies aren't included in the PD postings. I've taken a few minutes and perused the hosting colleges and fair sites and other agencies are wearing "class A" uniforms and cut quite the dashing appearance. I've thought which would I show an interest in of job hunting, squared away fine-looking uniforms or the relaxed "Acme Security" look? Not to say class A should be mandatory in recruitment but, the uniform class B (minus the "Hot Fuzz" movie tactical vests) is pretty damn sharp in its own right. Are our folks trying to impress future employees or sell aluminum siding and screen doors? Maybe its old school but I've been told to "dress for success" in job hunting, maybe our promoters should concider that as well.
