Charles M. "Spike" Miller of Linthicum passed peacefully on December 15, 2023. Charles is cherished by his daughter, Evangeline Inez Lotter, his grandchildren David Lotter, Leslie Lotter, Michelle Katharine Boyd, his four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Sarah and Ava, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A resident of the Crestwood community in Linthicum since 1958, Charles served honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and as a Captain in the Anne Arundel County Police Department where he managed the AA County Detention Center and was a responding officer to the Delta Flight 523 hijacking attempt at Thurgood Marshall/BWI airport on February 22, 1974. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 70, the Marine Corps League of AA County, the Halethorpe chapter of the American Legion and a stalwart patriarch of the Miller family. Charles enjoyed boating, NASCAR racing and golfing, and discovered a late-in-life passion for indoor shuffleboard, good-naturedly enjoying "cleaning the clocks" of his unsuspecting opponents. Remembered as a true gentleman, Charles will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services with military honors will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery 1122 Sunrise Beach Road Crownsville Md on Thursday December 21, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. Visi
