Re: Leosa & Conceal Carry question
I believe Steve's question is based on Senate bill 1 which wants to restrict concealed carry in Maryland even though the Supreme Court ruled in favor of concealed carry. Federal law (LEOSA) grants retired law enforcement to carry nationwide. I don't see Senate bill 1 passing however if it does, the US Constitution declares that federal law is "the supreme law of the land". As a result , when a federal law conflicts with a state or local law, the federal law will supersede the other law or laws. So, in a perfect world, if Maryland politicians try to negate concealed carry at certain locations, it cannot negate LEOSA carry Disclaimer: I graduated from Southern High School (Balto. City) and I don't have a law degree so this post is just my opinion.
