Several folks before have mentioned his laugh, which seemed to be ever- present. But there was an incident when he stopped laughing: Buzzy also served as a volunteer fire-fighter in Linthicum. A major fire occurred in a motel in that area. ( in the '60's?) A FF Lt( Paid) was working the hose with Buzzy and the Fire drove them into a bathroom. That Lt. said "I knew we were in trouble when Buzzy stopped laughing." Obviously, they survived, but the Lt. said the heat was so intense that his wool knit cap melted, while under his worn helmet. (Even those Paid FIre Fighters thought-and treated -Buzzy with Honor.)
Buzzy was at his best when dealing with the public, and I had the opportunity to watch him calm many situations when "citizens" were blistering cops about our handling of incidents.(I walked out of several, whereas Buzz stayed and settled their Stupidity.)
I also support inclusion of Buzzy Magee in our Hall of Fame. He HELPED US!
And then there is Buzzy the Horseman...
