rarely called for backup (even cancelled backups as many of us did back then), but when needed he was there in a flash.
Dutch was the kind of guy who always made you smile...when he complained...he did it in a way that made you chuckle. In line up he always had that look and you just knew what he was thinking.
Last I saw him was at a retired officers dinner a couple years ago and he had not changed a bit. Maybe a little "grayer" like all of us, but still the same ole' Dutch.
I am sad that we are losing more guys and gals to time and I hope each of you take a few minutes and reminisce about your time with Dutch...at work...at shift parties, where ever your paths have crossed.
"Save me a seat at the bar Dutch, but I may be a while. I've been riding this retirement train for twenty-five plus years now an I have no plans on getting off anytime soon!"
