One Councilperson went on the record saying "the bill won't limit hateful flags from being displayed across the county." (source WTOP News August 28).
So I'm assuming "hateful flags" are allowed to be flown on County flagpoles?
I'm not surprised by the one sided press coverage this bill has drawn. I'm also not surprised by the responses I have received from County Council members who have responded to my inquiries about the Bill.
With a Democratic majority on the Council, the Bill has about a 1.1666% chance of being passed. But this is how our government and society is supposed to work. A bill is introduced, discussed and voted on. Very simple process.
Fly three flags only in front of County buildings. Very simple law. My two cents.
