I just can't believe they are so damned determined that these chip cards are so secure, and once they were told the credit card was not lost or stolen, they refuse to acknowledge it as a criminal fraud theft scheme and they intend to hold the cardholder responsible for the improper charges placed.
Luckily, several of the merchants originally contacted by Capital One agreed to eat the fraudulent charges. A receipt provided by one of the merchants obviously shows a scribbled signature, inconsistent with the cardholder's. We are still disputing this and one other charge for approx $300.
I hate to give up and pay it off just to cancel doing business with this credit card company. Also, I thought there was a liability limit of only $50. ?
