I agree Ed. And O'Bie and the FOP are aware of the retirees needs. Negotiations with the county are always fraught with pitfalls! Overall, we have a pretty decent pension plan, particularly those of us with the older plan. The newer plan is not as good, and for those of us 65 and older Aetna often sucks. But we get a check every month (I know, not enough, but it helps with the bills) and if you are married your spouse get 100% of your pension, with COLAs for life after you die. That is a solid contract, and scream all they want the bean counters can't change it. Not unless we ask them to 'reopen negotiations!'
