Perhaps if Francine would tell us the names of the individual ships, I might be able to identify the designer. The demise of Shapeways left a number of designers looking for people who could print designs on a commercial basis and some bought their own printers and have moved on to printing other designers models as well as their own.

The only file company I mentioned in this discussion is WTJ. The companies WTJ lists are ALL printing companies. WTJ lists them because all of them print WTJ models, and no doubt print others besides WTJ. John is one of them.

The owner, John, states that he is a printing company not a file company. I asked him that specifically.

From whom? WTJ doesn’t do WW II British cruisers so it must be some other producer? The shops listed by WTJ do their models, and models other than those by WTJ and sell all of those, not just the files.

Hi,
I'm in process of ordering 4 British cruisers from the Bismarck chase from him. He states they are models, not files.
I'll let you know how things go.

XP is OK and they have a great price point. I have tried numerous, and the one concern I posted was the only person I found that excells in both price and quality. There is a GREAT Canadian concern of similar quality, but the damn terriffs wrecked their pricing. It is a damn shame.

From what I have seen and read, two of the shops, Wexel in Germany and XP Forge in the U.S. have consistent quality. I don’t know anything about the other shops. If you have your own printer, you can order files and print them yourself. Obviously the quality that you get depends on the quality of your printer.

These are sold in the UK by Skillballs Miniatures through eBay UK.
I bought a Kongo and was extremely pleased with it. Subsequent purchases were less pleasing. A respected collector/vendor in the UK gave the producer some very good advice concerning how he was removing prints from the printer. I'm not sure how much notice was taken of the advice because the last models I bought all suffered to some degree from post printing distortion.
Some of the distortion could be fixed, some couldn't. I haven't bought any more.
Bottom line here is that the models turn out well if the producer pays attention to the post-print curing processes.

These are models by WarTimesJournal. WTJ has been around for over a decade. The original creator, located in Southern California originally produced and sold the models direct to consumers, but several years ago he stopped that and instead began selling or licensing his files to individuals and other producers. As you will see from the attached link, JS is one of the 3D print shops that use his files.

I hope these pictures work because my shrinking brain just cannot figure a lot of things out. But it's good to be here again, after being lost in the woods for quite some time. John and some other good friends kept me interested in the game, and I found we collectors someone stateside who is both affordable and very good at what he does. If we place orders and do what we can to supply materials and business, some very good things could happen. The business is JS Wargamer Printing, and this guy is the real deal! I tried to include his link, and I hope Paul will "FIX" this message if I screwed up. I have no clue what will happen after I press the post button, but it should be interesting. Oh, Greeting from my NH exhile...
