Here is the official statement from DHL.
Have a nice day everyone.
Yours sincerely, Oliver and Martina Maertens
New US customs regulations are forcing DHL to make changes to parcel shipping for private and business customers. US President Trump has abolished duty-free imports for goods valued at less than $800. Due to new customs regulations, DHL is significantly restricting parcel shipping from Germany to the US. As of August 22, Deutsche Post and DHL Paket will no longer be able to accept and transport parcels and so-called International Parcel Post from business customers to the US, the company announced. The German logistics group also states that, for the time being, only parcels declared as gifts and with a value of up to $100 (currently around €86) will be transported to the US from private customers. Parcels from private individuals that are worth more than this can only be sent to the US as more expensive express shipments from Saturday onwards. This will also apply to all parcels from business customers starting next Tuesday. However, these shipments will be subject to even stricter controls than before in order to prevent the misuse of private gift shipments for the shipment of commercial goods, according to the company. There will be no changes to the shipment of documents in letters.
