An acetate sheet was used to mount the above water stuctures and the painted plastic card is slipped underneath. I had thought that the acetate sheet might look like the oil slick but reflections from artifical lighting spoil the effect from most angles. Previous Message
Here are a few photos of my Arizona Memorial. The underwater 3D print of the Arizona was created by a company that did an extensive underwater measurement of the sunken body. The result is displayed now at the Arizona Memorial in large scale. For me, they could only go as low as 1/700.
The 1/700 model of the USS ARIZONA is made out of paper, and the 1/700 Vestal is made out of resin.
All of this is displayed in my office. So if and when you are in the area of Fremont, come and check it out.

Have a look at Alnavco's December update. They've got a really cool model of the USS Arizona wreck with the Memorial Building atop it. Not a salesman for them, just pointing our a nifty new model!
