Just found out via Chris Daley's latest newsletter that Rudi Kraus passed away last Sunday (10/13/24) at 94. Rudi and his brother Willi were pioneers in the hobby back in the early 1960's, starting the Navis/Neptun line that covered the naval ships of WW1 and WW2 which formed the foundation of many a collection. Rudi and his son Egbert were regulars at our national meetings from 2004 until 2014 as well as the Kassel meetings, which Rudi attended until recently. He kept production going till the end. All who met him have their own memories of him, and all must agree that this marks the end of an era in our hobby.
