Yes, Paul, please post some photos or the ones you have.
I for one would love to see some photos beyond those already on the site.
Since his models were almost all one offs, I have never seen any point in posting a list of models that collectors can’t hope to get. I may post some photos if people are interested. As for John’s models, his website has photos of some of his work and is still accessible on line.
PS - Ever thought about publicly sharing a list of the ships? It would also be interesting for those of us who have Youngerman's to put our heads together and do the same...
Thanks for the info, Paul.
In 1993 I bought most of Cy’s collection, around 300 models. Over time I have sold a few. During his lifetime Cy made some models that he sold to other collectors (before I bought his collection). I know at least one collector who got a couple of his models before I bought the collection. Cy kept one model, and after his death I inquired about it. I was told that the family wanted to keep it.
Cy did not scratch build models en masse for sale like Ed Antin, Ron Hughes, and some others did. He built almost exclusively for his own collection.
In the string below, Paul mentions that Cy Broman made a lot of scratch-built 1/1200s. I am, thanks to the generosity of a well-known member of our community, an owner of two of them. My question is where are all the others? All still in collectors hands? Lost to the mists of time? I'd be interested to know.
