only speaking English we found the meal a strain on the 6 German speakers on the table, with us, they spoke some English but an experience we would not do again. Previous Message
Great pictures, Harald! Thanks for posting; looks like it was a great time. Previous Message
Thta is a really good 'through the window' shot of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges.
One of the most intimidating driving experiences I have ever had was driving across the Bay Bridge into SF on Labor Day a few years ago.
From memory I emerged from the tunnel into 10 (?) lanes of traffic. Luckily we had 'lane assist' on the sat nav which guided us perfectly back to the car rental shop. Previous Message

For me, the Friday of the Kassel meeting is almost as important as the Saturday. Friday afternoon, we meet at the Waldhotel Schåferberg. This year, it was cool, but the sun was shining on us so that we could sit / and stand outside. This is always the first chance, to meet friends that I have not seen in 2 years. I think it is sad that many German collectors only rush to Kassel on Saturday morning, and rush home on Saturday afternoon. Yes, on Saturday you can buy the models, but meeting friends is also very important.
My flight from San Francisco left under clear sky's, hence the photo of the Golden Gate bridge and San Francisco with Oakland in the background. Landing in Frankfurt the next morning, it was partially overcast but still clear enough for my iPhone 14 to get a nice photo of the city.
The 3 old guys on the next photo are friends since 1962.
The dinner on Friday evening was attended by a new record number of dinner guests. And the service was faster this time than in previous meetings.
Friday was an excellent start of this years Kassel meeting.
