As usual, members of the NorCal SMSC Chapter put out a diorama of Pearl Harbor for the local Memorial Day celebration event at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, CA. We were well received, and many were very impressed. Highlights included a couple of young girls (about 9-10 years of age) who were very knowledgeable about the ships, one of whom was wanting to buy models on the spot (!), and a man whose father was in fire control aboard the USS JOHNSTON at the Battle off Samar. Fortunately he was a survivor.
