I have re-fitted a large number of models and I can report that Albatros post WW2 NATO warship models are finished in a shade of grey that closely matches Z21 in the Navis Neptun touch up colours. I have been assured that the makers of NN-Cad and Spidernavy also used this grey on their British and US post-war models. Sometimes there is a difference in how glossy the finish is but you can adjust that by oversraying all the models with the same clear matt varnish. I find it best to use spray cans with a very fine nozzle so that the risk of over wetting the models is reduced.

What a shame!
Guess I’ll have to look for the Albatros Ford carrier then

I’m curious to know if Argos and Albatros models of the modern USN use the same shades of grey for the hull and deck - am assembling my first display of a Carrier Strike Group (with Albatros escort ships and Argos CVN) and am hoping to avoid having one ship or the other in a different color scheme!
