This handmade wood 1:1200 model was made by Cy Broman at least sixty years ago, which was probably before any commercially made models were available. The planes were also scratch built. HORNET differed in details from her two sisters, most visibly in her bridge configuration. Models of the two sisters were made before the war by Wiking, Bassett Lowke and possibly TreMo, but no war time ID models of HORNET were made, because she entered service in 1941 and was sunk in 1942.
