In photo 11 is that ferry the KALAKALA? In New York harbor? If so, it’s in the wrong place. KALAKALA spent her career on Puget Sound, Washington. A good choice would be Welfia 54 DONGAN HILLS, a Staten Island ferry which served for decades starting in 1929.
My recent Germany visit ended in Hamburg, with amongst other highlights, a visit to the Tamm museum on Monday, June 20.
It has been 7 years since my last visit, and 11 years since our group visit here. The 1250 floor has expanded with more new models and dioramas. There is so much to see on this one floor alone, it would take several days to take it all in.
On the lower floors I noticed that more 1250 models were used here to clearly show the developments in ship construction. A good example is my photo with the development of freighters 1858-1970.
One day is not enough to really enjoy all that this great museum has to offer. Here are my photos:
