Last Saturday, 14 of us met at Paul Jacob's house for a truly international model meeting. Hjalmar Heinen from Germany and Kevin Stewart from Canada joined us for an afternoon of long discussions about models, ships and our hobby.
As usual for our meetings, there was lots of good food to be enjoyed. Most of our participants bring along some of their favorite foods to share, or leftover cookies from Christmas.
Paul's large dining room table and credenzas where full of interesting models for discussions or sale.
Hjalmar brought in his carry-on luggage:
Spidernavy Essex, only a few produced so far, more in production
Rodkling Bounty, a small model but full of very intricate details
Rodkling diorama of Spruce Goose and "Herman the German" lowering her into the waters in Long Beach in 1947 for her one and only flight
I only took a few photos this time:

The beginning of our formal sit-down discussion was dedicated to our very fond memories of John Youngerman. From the beginning of our NorCal meetings in 2008, John was an integral part and constant contributor of new and exciting models. Jeff Williams brought one of John's models to make sure that John was still with us, when only in spirit. We will miss him.
Hjalmar Heinen gave us a brief update on the producers in Germany, followed by a long discussion about the future of our hobby.
Some of us are still optimistic that the Kassel meeting will take place on May 27/28, 2022.
For our next meeting we settled on Saturday, May 14, at Tom's house.
