Yes, Jennifer and I spent a week in Lerwick a few months back and the little museum does indeed have a few of our scale models. There is also a harbor on the north side of the island for servicing oil field vessels and the jumping off place for the famous "Shetland Bus" of WWII. The ferry to get there goes right by Scapa Flow which is also worth a look. Great Place!
My wife and I are big fans of British TV, especially crime dramas. In one of our regulars, "Shetland," the lead character is in what I assume is the local museum in Lerwick, where most of the show is filmed. Anyhow, as he walks through there are a lot of maritime objects, including some magnificent large-scale ships. But at one moment he passes a free-standing glass display case filled with the little treasures we all know and love. You just never know where you'll find some of our wee beasties!
