Re: Argonaut Nevada and Oklahoma
I have the Argonaut Nevada and Oklahoma - they are actually fairly decent in dimensions and cleanness of casting, but fall short in detail. I'm working on a couple at the moment, and it's taken quite a bit of work to whip them into shape (filling the gigantic portholes and redrilling properly, serious rebuilding of the main and 01 decks, replacement of the 5" guns, etc.) but they're coming out pretty nicely.
I have had both. The NEVADA was not very good. It represented the ship in the later 1930s. I didnít keep it. I still have Pennsylvania, which is a decent model. It of course, has the extra bridge level. You can see a photo of the model at Sammelhafen.de, which you can find in Collectors links on the Home Page here.
I was unaware of the ARGONAUT model and obviously, have never seen one.
Actually the Argonaut model is NEVADA. And Argonaut also did PENNSYLVANIA, both in pre-war rig.
No info still at hand. The Argonaut model was Oklahoma rather than 1941 Nevada, I think.
