Re: Looking for the Giulio (or Guilio) Cesare
The correct way to indicate this italian battleship is: "Regia Nave Giulio Cesare".
The Italian books that I have, such as Orizzonte Mare, and La Mimetizzione Dellle Navi Italiane 1940-1945 uniformly spell it GIULIO, as does the German Weyers, 1940, the French Les Flottes de Combat 1940, and the U.S. O.N.I. 202, 1943.
I wanted to see what the model looked like so I checked sammelhafen.de. I discovered that there are different ships with slightly different spellings of Giulio or Guilio. I was interested in the Cavour class BB, so I checked wikipedia (the sum of all the world's knowledge /SARC), Conways (which hedged their bet and spelled it both ways), Breyer, 1250ships, and got no consensus.
Does anyone know how it should be spelled?
