First meeting in the Kassel show he was easy and pleasant people. Later my friend Hörst Krönke who was 1250 modelship books writter told me that the Graf Von Stauffenberg was to be guest nextly of the C.O. Naughton Captain of the CVAN-65 USS ENTERPRISE for a sea show on the carrier and to see catapultings and landings of the airwing aboard the ship at sea. Hörst told me that Stauffenberg knowing that Naughton was aircraft pilot on the carrier USS FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT before in his career would wish to offer my Quadrant FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT carrier model to Naughton as gift for thankfull to the ENTERPRISE's Captain invitation.
Like I hadn't this model in stock anymore Hörst gave his own one to Stauffenberg and he offered it to Capt Naughton aboard. He appreciated the model greatly Stauffenberg said and to thanks again he said to his ordonnance officer to take picture of the model like jewel of choice on the desk of his office on the carrier and he sent it to Graf Stauffenberg. The Graf sent the photo to Hörst and he sent it to me! What a honor to me to know my work in trone on Capt desk of the bigger warship in the world ! Still keep the picture in my Quadrant's honor book.
Later we got kind phone call with Graf Stauffenberg and we swapped SMS and Quadrant models.
My Belgium friends told me the Graf welcoming them in his castle in Germany with fine&style service people and great care like if they were "kings"!
You can't guess how much the 1250 scale is a great entry if yourselves are people of quality... ;-)
