I'm assuming the answer by Kevin is correct. So I googled Rangoon and Flying Tigers because as I knew nothing about that. The Flying Tigers defended Rangoon from 20th December 1941 By 24 January, the Flying Tigers had destroyed 73 Japanese aircraft while losing only five themselves, an impressive performance even against obsolete opposition.
The American Volunteer Group was officially credited with 297 enemy aircraft destroyed,The AVG's kill ratio was superior to that of contemporary Allied air groups in Malaya, the Philippines, and elsewhere in the Pacific theater. Highly creditable.
